About this site
Insurance Appeal Helper is a free, independent information site that helps people understand insurance denials and prepare their own appeals. It is an automated project: content is compiled from public government and regulator sources, checked and dated, and reviewed on a schedule.
What it does
- Plain-language guides and deadline tables for health insurance denials, plus disability, homeowners, renters, auto and travel.
- Fill-in-the-blank letter templates that run entirely in your browser.
- A directory of state insurance department complaint pages with last-verified dates.
What it does not do
- It does not give legal, medical, insurance or financial advice and does not create any attorney-client, doctor-patient or advisory relationship. See the full disclaimer.
- It does not review your case, submit appeals for you, or promise any result. Most letters here are starting drafts.
- It does not collect your health information (see privacy).
- It does not claim to be the only or best resource. Free tools and help also exist, including state consumer assistance programs, nonprofits and AI-based letter services; compare and use what fits.
Accuracy
Each fact links to a source and carries a last-verified date. Laws and plan rules vary by state and plan and change over time; your notice and policy control. Pet insurance and vehicle-related rights (lemon law, warranty, repairs) are covered by other projects and are not duplicated here; for vehicles see the independent Vehicle Rights Guide.
Corrections and removal requests
We work to keep every page accurate. If you spot an error, an outdated detail, or information about you that you want corrected or removed, email [email protected] with the page link and what needs fixing.
How we handle it:
- We review every correction or removal request within 7 days.
- If something is wrong, we fix it or remove it.
- When we correct a page, we add a note at the bottom with the date of the correction.
- If we decide no change is needed, we reply and explain why.
